Player Archetypes
Creating a sustainable economy, as elaborated in previous chapters, hinges on well-crafted monetization design. However, the bedrock of successful monetization design is a profound understanding of the player base. Different player archetypes have distinct motivations to spend money, and acknowledging this diversity is pivotal. Optimal design stems from inclusivity, accommodating each player type while maintaining a balance so it doesn't appear excessively aggressive. This approach sustains player interest and commitment to the game, creating a win-win situation for all parties involved.
In Paradise Tycoon player types can be divided based on their goals in the game and their level of engagement:
Casual Builders (Casual/Low Engagement): Players who enjoy the aesthetic aspects of the game. Their short-term goal is to create a visually pleasing island.
